*Briefly explain why the request has now been referred to the Commission.
We recently acquired the 2nd and 3rd floor to expand our restaurant. Our 1st floor meets ADA requirements but our 2nd & 3rd do not for vertical access. To gain ADA vertical access it would require demolition of exterior walls and would compromise the historical nature of the building.
Requirements to be Waived.
Issue 1:
Florida-specific hotel/motel rooms
Minimum height in parking structures
Accessible parking
Vertical accessibility
Toilet rooms

We have stairs going to each floor. Cannot add in a vertical lift or elevator due to building being historic and it would ruin the preservation of this historic landmark if it were changed. Chair lift accessibility also cannot be met due to the width of the stairwells.
