October 10, 2012

Technical Advisory Committee members present:

A quorum was achieved with 10 TAC members present: Rafael Palacios, Chair, Alex Hernandez representing Bob Andrews, Larry Banks, Joe Crum, Jim Cummings, Elizabeth Goll, Dan Griffin, Gary Griffin, Scott Mollan, Al Fraga representing Don Pitmann, and Pete Quintela.

DBPR staff support present included Mo Madani, Ann Stanton, Marlita Peters, Joe Bigelow and Jim Richmond.

Meeting Objectives:

• Review and approve agenda and minutes of the previous meeting.

• Review code change mods that were proposed during the current triennial code change cycle on the Florida-specific changes to the baseline codes, the 2012 International Mechanical Code and International Residential Code, and recommend actions as to their disposition to the Florida Building Commission.

Actions Taken:

1. The meeting was called to order by Chair Palacios at 1:00 p.m. The agenda and minutes from the July 23, 2012 meeting were reviewed and approved.

2. Jim Richmond went over the Commission’s rules for reviewing and criteria for actions taken on said mods with the group. A standing motion was moved, seconded and adopted unanimously by the TAC. The TAC then reviewed 56 proposed code change modifications, discussed them and took action as to their disposition:

8 were Approved as Submitted

1 was Approved as Modified

22 had No Affirmative Recommendation (with Second)

21 had No Affirmative Recommendation (no Second)

4 were Withdrawn by proponent

3. Chair Palacios adjourned the meeting at 4:45 p.m.
