the course. The Education Administrator stated that the year of the code
edition being referenced in the course materials is required in the course

verifies the accuracy of the Florida Building Code related content, and subject to the deletion of the phrase “participant’s workbook”, in
the course syllabus. Motion: Jeffrey Stone Second: Darrell Phillips Discussion: The
Education Administrator stated that in the “Method of Presentation” section
of the syllabus, a participant’s workbook was referenced as being part of the
course materials. However, the workbook was not present for review. He
further stated that the workbook needs to be submitted for review, or the
reference to the workbook needs to be deleted from the syllabus. Also,
Commissioner Stone stated that he didn’t quite understand the graphic
depicted on slide 40. John
Faranelli, the provider of this course, explained the graphic to Commissioner
Stone and stated that the workbook referenced was only the handout of the
powerpoint presentation, to be used by participants for taking notes. He
stated that he would remove the reference from the syllabus. Approved Unanimously Course: 2014 Advanced

final exam included as part of the course materials. Motion: Jeffrey Stone Second: Kevin Flanagan Discussion: Commissioner
Stone stated that on slide 30, the word “not” was crossed out, and on slide
35 the number 224.2 was crossed out. He stated that he was not sure what that
meant. John Faranelli, the provider of the course, stated that the crossouts
represented 2 out of the 3 only changes that occurred with the Florida
Accessibility Code. Mr. Faranelli stated that he would be clear what the
crossouts meant in a classroom setting. Commissioner Stone agreed. Commissioner
Dean stated that a final exam was referenced in the syllabus, but was not
found in the materials. The Education Administrator stated that he requested
that the exam be included, and further stated that he had seen the exam in
the BCIS. Commissioner Dean suggested that the course be conditionally
approved, subject to the exam being included as part of the materials. The
Education Administrator stated that he would check to find out the status of
