The Building official stated that although the building department would require us to show the ADA Elevator lift in order to attain permits to begin construction, he urged us to apply for a waiver in order to avoid installing the elevator lift especially since the actual occupancy is only for 3 persons and the cost of the elevator is just over the 20% limit which places this project in a disproportional financial hardship
