Supplement to Petition For Declaratory Statement Before the Florida Building Commission for EPOX-Z Industrial Primer Product – DS 2011-097

The purpose of this document is to clarify the use and installation instructions for the EPOX-Z Industrial Primer Product. There has been some confusion as to the use and purpose for this product.

The Epox-Z Industrial Primer Product is applied to diverse materials with the most common use being on steel and concrete for surface coating protection benefits. Examples of product use include coating steel railings and stairs, and concrete walls and floors. This is a superior coating product similar in concept and purpose to many paint primer coating products on the market. For example, coating steel railings and stairs is done to help reduce instances of rust and corrosion, and coating concrete floors and walls helps preserve the concrete and provides aesthetic benefits since there are a wide range of colors available in the primer coating product. The EPOX-Z Industrial Primer Product is available for customers who want the superior benefits of the EPOX-Z product, but choose a different finish paint or other finish coating product.

Installation of the Epox-Z Industrial Primer Product is a simple process. The instructions are very basic. Mix Part A and B of the EPOX-Z product, and paint on surfaces by method of spray, paint brush, or paint roller.
