and a quorum of six members and one alternate were present. |

and Approval of Meeting Agenda: Motion
by Bob Boyer, seconded by Billy Cone to accept Agenda as presented. Vote taken, unanimous approval. |

Approval of Minutes of December 3,
2013: Motion by Bob Boyer, seconded by Billy Cone
to accept the Minutes of previous meeting of December 3, 2013. Vote taken, unanimous approval. |

To discuss and provide recommendations
to the Commission regarding a request for Declaratory Statement, DS2014-002,
Gulf Coast Supply and Manufacturing, LLC.
The
petitioner, Mr. Ray Brown, did not participate in the
teleconference/webinar. In his absence
Mr. Mo Madani provided an overview of the request for declaratory statement
and the staff analysis. Question 1: To
the question #1: Does Table 153.2 set forth the minimum thickness
requirements used on metal roof systems,even though thinner metal roofing
panels are acceptable per Table 1507.4(3)? Answer: Yes. Table 1503.2 is specific to the type and
gage of flashing that it is to be utilized and does not differentiate based
on types of roof covering to be used. Question 2: To
the Question #2: Do what we in the industry call “Trims” (eve drips, wall
trims, ridge caps, preformed valleys, etc.) qualify as flashings, seeing they
are always installed at the locations listed in 1503.2.1? Answer: Yes.
As long as the items in question are covered within the scope of
section 1503.2 of the Florida Building
Code, Building. Mark
Zehnal made a motion to accept the staff analysis as presented, seconded by
Bob Boyer. Vote taken, unanimous
approval. |

Other Commission business: Billy
Cone asked where staff was on the research project which was approved during
last year’s meetings? Mr. Madani
stated that it was moving forward as a Work Authorization to UF (University
of Florida) and was signed January 9, 2014.
UF has been in contact with subject matter professionals to determine
specific details for survey questions and will have the questionnaire ready
for review by the TAC in a near future meeting. UF is also searching for a survey provider
which will be submitted at the next TAC meeting as well. It is anticipated the next Roofing TAC
meeting to review and approve these items will be held on or before March 15,
2014. |
