Accessibility to the second floor of the restaurant is required by the Florida Accessibility Code for Building Construction. The law also allows for waivers to be granted for various reasons, including historical preservation. I am seeking a waiver from the vertical accessibility requirement due to the significant negative impact on the historic building in which my restaurant will be located. I have and will ensure access for all people to all food, drink, and services of the restaurant on the first floor. I am committed to continuing the historical preservation of this important building to Fernandina Beach's history.

The project is very limited in scope, but we engaged a design professional so as to ensure safe enjoyment for our guests. He is supportive of the vertical accessibility waiver being granted (see attached letter).
