Objective |
Discussion of
objectives included the following: |
1) |
2:31 PM Welcome and
Opening, Roll Call. Slight
delay in starting the meeting due to technical difficulties, also a delay as
we needed one more TAC member to reach a quorum. A quorum was reached a few
minutes later. Marlita
Peters, facilitator for the Florida Building Commission, provided a welcome
and a brief overview of the agenda items to be presented. |

Agenda and meeting Minutes for the April
8th, 2014 Mechanical TAC meeting were approved unanimously by the committee
members. |

The TAC received the final report on
the research project. The report “A Review of Home Airtightness and
Ventilation Approaches for Florida Building Commission Research.” A
presentation was given by the authors of the report guests Jeffrey Sonne and
Robin Vieira from FSEC. Afterwards the, Chair Mr., Bassett
proposed that some research be done concerning this research report and
ventilated attics. Mr. Sonne recommended a report done on that subject by
Danny S. Parker for FSEC. Jim Richmond issued a short statement
concerning the reports Disclaimer. Rob Vieira also recommended that the
all interested could participate in a related report due to the Energy TAC on
June 26th. Don Pittman moved to accept the
report, which was seconded by Larry Banks. The report was accepted by the TAC
unanimously. |

Next item was to propose possible
research projects to be taken up by the TAC. No research projects were proposed
by the TAC. Comment from the public by Rob Vieira
concerning report in Item 3. Concerning possible use of reports on mechanical
ventilation from out of the state. Also EPA Energy Star houses and other mech
ventilation systems in Florida. Also determining how these systems are
working. This item was not acted on by the TAC. |
