TAC Objectives

TAC Members Present: Chairman: Steve Bassett, Joseph Crum, Oscar Calleja, Daniel Griffin, Gary Griffin,

TAC Members Absent: Elizabeth Goll, Alex Hernandez, Don Pittman and Pete Quintella

Alternate: rolando Soto for Alex Hernandez and Amador Barzaga for Pete Quintella

Staff Present: Mo Madani, Jim Richmond, April Hammonds, Marlita Peters, Joe Bigelow, Jim Hammers.

Ø Objective - The purpose of these meetings is to accept public input and to provide recommendations on the proposed code changes for the update to 2017 5^th Edition of the Florida Building Code.

Meeting Agenda
Objective	Review of objectives will include the following: Description of issue, discussion by TAC, public comment, TAC action.
1)	Welcome and Opening Remarks. Meeting began at 1:32pm with opening remarks by facilitator, Jeff Blair regarding the code review processes to be followed.
2)	Roll Call – Roll call was taken a full quorum was present.
3)	Review and Approval of Meeting Agenda and Minutes of previous meeting: Motion to accept the Agenda by Oscar Calleja with a second by Joseph Crum. Unanimous vote to accept the agenda as presented. Motion to accept previous minutes by Oscar Calleja from the meeting held January 28, 2016 with a second by Joseph Crum. Unanimous vote to accept the Minutes as presented.
4)	Accept public input and provide recommendations on the proposed code changes for the update to the 2017 5^th Edition of the Florida Building Code. The standing motion to accept all modifications as submitted was made by Joseph Crum and 2^nd by Calleja with a unanimous vote of approval. The Mechanical TAC reviewed 21 proposed code modifications. The TAC made the following recommendations: eleven (11) were Approved as Submitted, one (1) was Approved as Modified, eight (8) received No Affirmative Recommendation With a Second, one (1) was Withdrawn. Local Amendments – none were accepted as beneficial for state-wide use.
5)	Other Commission business – There was no other business on behalf of the TAC or the Commission.
6)	Public Comment – none made.
7)	Adjournment. – 3:45pm
