Objectives: To Approve the Agenda and
Minutes of the June 4, 2013, meeting, to discuss and recommend potential research topics for consideration
by the Commission and to review comments related to the 2013 update to the Florida Building Code for
consideration during the 8/22/13-8/23/13 Rule Development Workshop on Rule

Objective |
Discussion of
objectives included the following: |
1) |
10:30 AM Welcome and Opening, Roll Call. A
quorum was present. Mr. Ken Cureton, facilitator for the
Florida Building Commission, provided a brief overview of how the agenda
items will be presented. The Meeting Minutes for the 6/4/13 Mechanical TAC
meeting and the Agenda for the 8/2/13 Mechanical TAC meeting were approved
unanimously by the committee members. |
2) |
Research Topics - TAC Action and Comments – Oscar Calleja recommend a potential
research topic for consideration by the Commission regarding Humidity Control
by Residential AC Equipment. Jim
Cummings suggested that the proposed topic include an assessment of energy
efficiency and humidity control in buildings as
well. Topic was voted unanimous in favor of recommendation to the Commission.

Comments Related to the 2013 FBC Update – Comment Item MC-1 was approved unanimously
for Glitch Criteria compliance and for text of the comment As Submitted. |
