TAC discussed
the possibility of adopting the 2014 National Electrical Code (NEC) as part
of the proposed 5th Edition (2014) Florida Building Code The TAC discussed the Pros and Cons of adopting the 2014 (NEC). Staff
raised several concerns with the adoption of the latest version of the (NEC).
Staff explained that the adoption of the latest edition of the NEC would
create potential conflict with the proposed update to the FFPC and the
proposed 5th Edition (2014) FBC.
Staff also noted that in order to adopt the 2014 NEC an extensive
correlation and revision to the updated FBC would be necessary. TAC Action: 1. The TAC decided it
would be in their best interest to refrain from taking any action on this
issue. |
