and Opening of the meeting of the Plumbing TAC, Roll Call: Jim Bickford was
not present and Brian Thomas was
alternate for Joesph Kajak |

Review and Approval of Meeting Agenda: Gary
Duren made the motion to approve agenda and Ken Gregory seconded the motion
with all in favor. |

Approve
minutes from June 1, 2012 meeting: Gary Duren made the motion
to approve minutes and Ken Gregory seconded the motion with all in favor. |

D.) |
Review and discuss Declaratory Statement DS2012-068: The Committee discussed the
Petitioner’s request and staff analysis on the subject of concern and
provided the following recommendation: Gary Duren made a
motion in
favor of option #2 of the staff analysis/recommendation. This motion did not materialize due to the
lack of second. After further discussion,
another motion was made by Gary Duren in favor for
option #1 and George Seiler seconded the motion with all in favor. TAC action: Question: To the question, Is the intent of Florida Building Code –
Plumbing 2010, 607.1, Exception, to also apply to Florida Building Code –
Plumbing 2010, 416.5 as an exception? Answer: Option #1: For the project in question, the answer is “yes”. Section 607.1(exception) is more specific to nonresidential occupancies and provides for a narrow scope of application than Section 416.5. Therefore, the provisions of section 607.1 will govern with respect to the project in question and hot water or tempered water is not is not required. |
