Section 553.895 F.S. to allow the use
of two hour separation or other approved method for over three stories mixed
use parking garages as an alternative to requiring sprinklers. -Proponent Presentation – James Schock (proponent/Commissioner)

- TAC members provided input on the current
statute and language in FBC 509.8 that affects the subject of this meeting,
including openness, fire separation distances and fire rated separations. It
was suggested by staff that the best the Commission could potentially
accomplish would be to include the matter in its next annual report that is
slated to be done June 2013. In addition, the TAC members expressed that the
issue should be deferred until specific statutory language of this proposal
can be written. -TAC Vote on Recommendation No recommendation/action was taken. |
