CHAPTER 3 BUILDING PLANNING

 

R302.5.1 Opening protection. Openings from a private garage directly into a room used for sleeping purposes shall not be permitted. Other openings between the garage and residence shall be equipped with solid wood doors not less than 13/8 inches (35 mm) in thickness, solid or honeycomb core steel doors not less than 13/8 inches (35 mm) thick, or 20-minute fire-rated doors, equipped with a self-closing device.

 

CHAPTER 6 WALL CONSTRUCTION

 

R609.10 Door components.

 

Substitution of door components shall comply with either:

 

(1)   ANSI/WMA 100; or

(2)   Be evaluated by an approved product evaluation entity, certification agency, testing laboratory, or engineer and may be  interchangeable in exterior door assemblies if the components provide equal or greater structural performance as demonstrated by accepted engineering practices.

C401.2 Application. Commercial buildings shall comply with one of the following:

C408.2.4 Preliminary commissioning report. A preliminary report of commissioning test procedures and results shall be completed and certified by the licensed design professional, electrical engineer, or mechanical engineer  registered design professional or approved agency and provided to the building owner or owner’s authorized agent. The report

shall be organized with mechanical and service hot water findings in separate sections to allow independent review.  The report shall be identified as “Preliminary Commissioning Report” and shall identify:
