Chapter 1: Administration
Revise Section 106.1, Submittal
documents, to add interior designer as follows:
106.1 Submittal documents.
Construction documents,
special inspection and structural observation programs, and other data shall be
submitted in one or more sets with each application for a permit. The
construction documents shall be prepared by a design professional where
required by the statutes. Where special conditions exist, the building
official is authorized to require additional construction documents to be
prepared by a design professional.
Exception: The building official is authorized to waive the
submission of construction documents and other data not required to be prepared
by a registered design professional if it is found that the nature of the work
applied for is such that review of construction documents is not necessary to
obtain compliance with this code.
If
the design professional is an architect, interior designer or engineer
legally registered under the laws of this state regulating the practice of
architecture and interior design as provided for in Chapter 481, Florida
Statutes, Part I, or engineering as provided for in Chapter 471, Florida
Statutes, then he or she shall affix his or her official seal to said drawings,
specifications and accompanying data, as required by Florida Statute. If the
design professional is a landscape architect registered under the laws of this
state regulating the practice of landscape architecture as provided for in
Chapter 481, Florida Statutes, Part II, then he or she shall affix his or her
seal to said drawings, specifications and accompanying data as defined in
Section 481.303(6)(a)(b)(c)(d), FS.
Clarify the intent and the
application of Section 105.15 in accordance with the Commission’s action on
Declaratory Statement - DCA09-DEC-053.
105.15 When any activity requiring a building permit that is
applied for on or after July 1, 2008, and for which the estimated cost is
$50,000 or more for a building that is located in the wind borne debris region
as defined in the Florida Building Code and that has an insured value of
$750,000 or more, or, if the building is uninsured or for which documentation
of insured value is not presented, has a just valuation for the structure for
purposes of ad valorem taxation of $750,000 or more.
Opening protections as required
within the
Remove Section 2705, Equipotential Bonding and adopt by reference the 2008 National Electric Code.
Chapter 35: Referenced Standards
Update the National Electric Code to the 2008 edition.

Chapter 6: Alterations – Level 1
Revise Section 611.7.1 in accordance
with Commission’s action on Declaratory Statement DCA09-DEC-009. The proposed change will change the minimum
diameter for 8d common nail from “.141” to “.131”.
611.7.1 Roof decking attachment for site-built single family residential structures. For site-built single family residential structures the fastening shall be in accordance with section 611.7.1.1 or 611.7.1.2 as appropriate for the existing construction. 8d nails shall be a minimum of 0.141 inch in diameter and shall be a minimum of 2-1/4 inch long to qualify for the provisions of this section for existing nails regardless of head shape or head diameter
