Description:
This project is a renovation of the Second Floor of the Dolive Building located in Downtown Orlando and was built in 1918. The First Floor is occupied with restaurants and bars. The Second Floor has not been unoccupied for more than 20 years.

We are requesting an AVA waiver for vertical accessibility for the installation for an elevator / ADA lift.
Florida vertical accessibility requirements of s.553.509, F.S., as incorporated in section 201.1.1 of
the code, apply to the path of travel upgrades required by 202.4. Florida requirements may be
waived down to the ADA Standards requirements.

We are requesting the ADA vertical accessibility waiver as the cost of the ADA lift equipment and building modifications is disproportionate the overall cost of the project. The ADA upgrades of entrances, stairs, drink fountain, and bathing facilities are $82,223 or 27% of the cost of construction.

With the ADA vertical accessibility added to the ADA upgrades the cost increases to a total of $155,796 or 52% of the total cost of construction.
