NOTE:**
The existing ground floor for the office space is a portion of the employee work area that will be upgraded to accommodate employees who are temporarily or permanently disabled. These accommodations include a fully accessible restroom, accessible drinking fountains, double-wide entry doors with an entrance transition that is less than 1/4" high, and 5' turning spaces.
The estimated costs for the interior alterations is $240,264.00. Upon getting a quote from an elevator installer, it was determined that installing a new elevator would cost between $80,000 to $95,000 which is approximately 33-39% in relation to the estimated construction cost for the project. As per Florida Building Code-Accessibility (202.4.1 - Disproportionate Cost), "Alterations made to provide an accessible path of travel to the altered area will be deemed disproportionate to the overall alteration when the cost exceeds 20% of the cost of the alteration to the primary function area."
