RE: Updating Training Courses With the 2006 Code Supplement

You have been reminded in the past that any course materials either developed or purchased must reflect the current building code, especially focusing on the need for certain purchased materials to be updated. With that in mind, the Florida Building Commission plans to adopt the 2006 code supplement at the August 21, 2006 Commission meeting. It is anticipated that said adopted 2006 supplement will be available on the Building Code Information System (BCIS) web-site on or around September 15, 2006. So all courses developed or purchased before the 2006 supplement was adopted (and will be affected by a code change) must be updated.
Providers will have sixty (60) days from the date the 2006 supplement becomes available on the BCIS to update any existing advance code course that has been approved by the Florida Building Commission via the accreditation process. The updated course(s) must be submitted for re-accreditation within the sixty (60) day period, but may continue to be offered during the interim.
