COMMISSION Objectives

Council Members Present: Jaime Gascon, Jack Glenn, Do Kim, Craig Parrino, Richard Reynolds, Jim Schock, Chris Schulte.

Council Members Absent: Raul Rodriguez, Joe Crum, John Igargiola, Dave Olmstead, Tim Reinhold.

Staff Present: Mo Madani, Ila Jones, Jim Richmond, April Hammonds, Marlita Peters, Jim Hammers, Joe Bigelow.

Objective - To hear a presentation from the University of Florida on the status of their research performed under the auspices of the Florida Building Commission and the Department.

Minutes
Objective	Review and Accept Research Reports from university of Florida regarding Soffits, Green/Vegetative Roofs, Tile Roofs and Shingle Roofs.
1)	Meeting began at 2:01pm. Roll was called and, with a slight delay, quorum was met. There was a motion by Chris Schulte, seconded by Jack Glenn, to accept the Agenda as posted.
2)	Mr. Madani introduced the first agenda item which was to review and accept a report from the University of Florida on the status of their research performed under the auspices of the Florida Building Commission and the Department. The first presentation on the Soffit Research was given by Dr. Forrest Masters. For more details regarding the presentation, please review the attached power point presentation regarding the Soffit Research. Dr. David Prevatt provided a presentation on the Green/Vegetative Roof research. For details, please review the attached power point presentation regarding the Green/Vegetative Roof Research. Dr. Masters then provided two brief reports on test research on Asphalt Shingles and Roofing Tiles. For further details, please see the attached power point presentations regarding the Tile Roof Research and Shingle Roof Research. A motion to accept these reports was submitted by Jim Schock, seconded by Jack Glenn. Vote was taken via roll call with unanimous approval. Mr. Glenn’s cell phone lost power during the vote and he provided his approving vote via proxy to Mr. Madani.
3)	Having no further commission business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 4:43pm.
