Meeting Objective:
1. Called to order and the agenda was approved as submitted. The March minutes were approved as modified to add “may” to the item in section 2 regarding Footnote 4.
There was a quorum. Jeff Blair facilitated the meeting. James Goodloe, Joe Belcher, Brad Schiffer, Tony Apfelbeck (Kevin Carrier replaced Mr. Apfelbeck near end of meeting) Dale Greiner, and Jim Schock were present. Staff present were Joe Bigelow, Mo Madani, Betty Stevens, Azhar Khan, Rick Dixon, and Jim Richmond
2. Reviewed and discussed proposed code changes to the 2007 Florida Building Code and provided recommendation for consideration to the Commission.
3. Reviewed and provided recommendations to the Commission on the following request for declaratory statements:

Action: Staff recommendation was accepted with the following modifications
Yes: Section 1205 of the
code does not offer exceptions relative to general lighting. Additionally,
section 1006.1.1 requires lighting of a means of egress. It offers some
exceptins, but they are not applicable for this space. A means of Egress consists of three separate
parts, the first being the Exit Access.
The definition of Exit Access states that it includes any occupied
portion of a building.

Action: Was deferred to local appeal board.
DCA08-DEC-267 by Glen Lathers of Hillsborough County Public Schools
Action: Was dismissed due to no response to date to staff from petitioner.
