1. Called to Order and reviewed/approved agenda as submitted.
2. The Fire Code Advisory Council and the Committee discussed HB727 mandate to evaluate the compatibility of Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) technology with the requirements of the National Fire Alarm Code (NFAC) for use as a potential alternative for fire alarm system monitoring (NFPA 72). The Council and the Committee unanimously agreed in principle that Managed Facilities Voice Network (MFVN) provides for level of protection required by NFPA 72 with specific conditions to be determined through rulemaking.
3. Reviewed and discussed the pros and cons of the Rule 9B-3.0472 Carbon Monoxide Protection for the purpose of providing recommendation to the Commission to go into a report to the legislature on any needed changes to the Carbon Monoxide Detector law. The committee took an action to recommend to the Commission that a workgroup be scheduled to discuss the issue further and provide recommendation at the December Commission meeting. Members of the Committee and interested parties were encouraged to send information to the facilitator Jeff Blair before the December meeting.

4. Reviewed and discussed proposed glitch code changes to the 2007 Florida Building Code and provided recommendation for consideration by the Florida Building Commission. In addition, the committee discussed comments received on the Broward County Resolution to adopt the 2008 NEC.
