Short Course Description |
This course addresses numerous components of indoor environmental quality
pertaining to the current Florida Building Codes. The chapters included
are Chapter 7 (Fire Resistant Requirement), Chapter 8 (Interior Finishes),
Chapter 9 (Fire Protection Systems), Chapter 12 (Interior Environment),
and Chapter 13 (Energy Efficiency). The information will include ventilation
pertaining to HVAC and HEPA filtration systems; also relating to relative
humidity, thermal comfort and overall indoor air quality. Lighting, both
natural (daylighting) and artificial, sound control and reduction. Identifying
combustion pollutants, volatile organic compounds, radon, lead, asbestos
and effects of ozone. Interior materials and finishes and the importance
of VOC reduction with particular emphasis on building related problems
and the importance of optimizing IAQ. LEED –CI (Commercial Interiors) a “green” US
Green Building Council standard will be cited in certain areas that relate
and when applicable to the Florida Building Codes |
