NOTE:**
We are respectfully requesting a vertical accessibility waiver based on technical infeasibility and disproportionate costs. Aside from the building geometry, adjacent exterior spaces, the non-compliant existing public way, and lack of public parking, the small building footprint makes it technically infeasible to provide vertical accessibility to the 1,690 s.f. of the 2nd floor.
In addition, the renovation cost provided by the general contractor is $120,000. A typical 2-stop elevator currently costs between $50,000-$70,000 not including the cost that we would incur to construct a shaft and modify the existing building structure.
