When we were in the permitting process with the county they recommended we apply for the exemption because they felt the building qualified. We are working on revitalizing the entire town (6 buildings total) and they are assisting us with Ad valorem exemptions, historical designations, and in every way possible to help us get the buildings restored to rebuild the community which has been vacant for years.
I am also the Board chair of Hastings Main Street Inc ( a non-profit) and we are working with the board of county commissioners on economic revitalization and getting grants and state funding to help with infrastructure within the community.
