This is the addition of office space above the existing carport area for this office building. The Existing Building is 5,938 S.F. and the Addition is 1,454 S.F. The main building is one story. The addition is going over the existing covered parking area.

The project budget for the work is $1065871, excluding the cost of the vertical platform lift which is a cost of $51350. However the request for the waiver falls under the exception that the alterations is a space that serves five people or less and is not open to the public

The building department does not concur with the exception under 553.509(c) which allows for the following exemption for providing vertical accessibility where occupiable spaces and rooms that are not open to the public and that house no more than five persons, including, but not limited to, equipment control rooms and projection booths for this project.

In addition to the exemption of the area in question not being open to the public and serving five people or less Florid State Statute 553.512 states that notwithstanding any other provision of this subsection, if an applicant for a waiver demonstrates economic hardship in accordance with 28 CFR 36.403(f)(1), a waiver shall be granted.
